Talk About Your Plans and Dreams?
Some people believe that going ‘public’ with their plans to do something, write a book, take dance lessons, lose weight etc, help as it firms their commitment.
That seems to be a reasonable assumption if you are the type of person concerned about keeping your word.
However, keeping your mouth SHUT, is actually more effective. As psychological studies have proven, keeping your goals to yourself makes them easier to achieve.
These studies have proven that when we tell someone our goal, and they acknowledge it, we are less likely to do the work that is necessary to accomplish the goal.
Sounds crazy but these studies have shown that when you talk about a goal, the social gratification you receive tricks your mind into believing you have actually accomplished it.
The satisfaction we experience TELLING, removes the motivation we need to actually make it happen.
